Kitchen renovation

Traditional kitchen renovation with contemporary elements.

A fresh, contemporary take on a traditional kitchen for a lovely, local couple to enhance their family home. This kitchen renovation was a collaboration with the owners who had a good idea of what they wanted aesthetically but needed some help with the layout to maximise space whilst working within existing constraints such as pipework and doorways. The clients electrical engineering expertise allowed for collaborative planning to ensure a kitchen that worked for the clients. The result, an elegant and traditional kitchen with a contemporary colour pallet that is both practical and beautiful.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank Kim for all the hard work and effort she has put in to allow us to modernise our kitchen.
When the project began, the only items to survive the cull was the washing machine and the integrated fridge so Kim had a blank canvas to work with. She visited the site and took a series of measurements to allow her to provide us with three different layout sketches.
We went through the designs and decided on the final layout that we wanted.
Kim then provided numerous catalogues to allow us to pick out the actual kitchen we wanted and numerous fixtures and fittings. Once this had been done, she then provided a final layout drawing with all our choices. Kim then liaised with numerous suppliers to source, supply and carry out the delivery of the items of our choice.
The centre piece of our kitchen was going to be a solid oak dresser, but because of the size constraints, off the shelf dressers where either too small or too large to fit in the space available. We went through this with Kim and decided to have a bespoke dresser. Between us we came up with a design and Kim liaised with a Joiner to manufacture a dresser. During the manufacture a few minor adjustments to the design had to be made, due to the professional expertise of the manufacturer. The final result is in my opinion outstanding.
We are more than happy with our new kitchen because the final design layout that Kim came up with was a version that would not have entered our heads and it’s a refreshing change to what we have had over the years”
